Learning Assembly Language
GAL: GAL Assembly Language is a small assembly language of my own design, in the tradition of the Little Man Computer. It has one accumulator, a handful of named data cells, and just over twenty instructions – small enough to get the hang of in an afternoon, real enough to write genuine programs with. It grew out of my memories of the Elliott 803, the computer I first learned to program in the 1960s.
The following pages provide everything you need to learn it: the language definition, an assembly playground that runs in your browser, and some sample programs to experiment with.
